This policy covers the Vault 78 website and Discord application as they work today. It explains what information we receive, why we use it, and how you can ask us to remove it.
1. Information we receive
If you sign in with Discord, we request the identify and guilds permissions. Discord returns your user ID, username, display name, avatar reference, and basic details about servers you belong to, including server IDs and names. We use this to show your private resident card and server list and to check whether server ID 1551019429847113798 (Vault 78) is in that list. We do not request your email, messages, friends, or the ability to join servers for you.
Our hosting provider may process ordinary request data such as IP address, browser details, and timestamps in server logs for operation and security. If you email us, we receive the contents of your message and your email address so we can respond.
2. How we use and keep it
The Discord access token is used to fetch your profile and server list during sign-in and is discarded immediately afterward. Your profile and a limited server list are held in a secure, temporary server session so the website can display them only to you. We do not place this information in a member database. Signing out clears the session information; inactive sessions expire under the server's session settings. Hosting and email records may be retained separately for operational or support needs.
3. Cookies and sharing
We use one essential, secure session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies or sell your information. The website calls Discord to complete sign-in and loads your avatar from Discord's image service, which means Discord receives that image request. Our hosting and email providers process information needed to run the site and support inbox. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the service.
4. Your choices
You can browse the public site without signing in. You can sign out to clear your current session and remove this application's authorization in your Discord settings. To ask about information we hold or request deletion of support correspondence or other data, email support@vault-78.com. We may need to confirm that a request is yours before acting on it.
5. Future bot features
We plan to develop more Discord bot features. This policy describes the current website sign-in and server-list feature. Before activating features that collect or retain additional member, server, or message data, we will update this policy to explain them.
6. Updates and contact
We may revise this policy as the project changes. The effective date at the top of this page shows the latest version. For privacy questions, contact support@vault-78.com.
